Default 40AMP passenger seat fuse keeps popping but only when reclining...

Going back and forth is ok but when reclining, it blows the fuse.

I checked the wires and panel, seems to be ok.

The two types of movement use a different motor, so maybe the motor for the recline/raise has a short.

Looks like the motor for reclining is bad. When you are at it and your pass seat is not fitted with the height adjustment motors and mechanics, I would try to get a seat base with that. The stock switches and wires provide the power for these two additional motors already. I got a used seat base with motors for under $100 from ebay.

@GoRoll I have a bunch of seat parts as I just replaced my seats in my D2. The seat base is heavy so it could be expensive to ship but I do have the motors. Let me know

Also, any ways to have the seat up? I don’t want to burn the wire but I may run a heavier amp just to be able to recline it up lol

I don't have photos. The seat comes with one two or three four motors. If you have three four motors, which one do you mean?

EDIT: I forgot the forward/reward motor, so there are two or four motors in a seat. Corrected it above.

This picture shows the motor for the recline:

The recline motor is really buried in there. You will need to almost completely disassemble the seat back to get to it. I would suggest to swap the entire seat or just the seat back instead did trying to replace the motor.

hahah its super recline. I may just run to the yard, get tons of fuses at the moment and adjust it bit by bit. I have a trailing trip tomorrow and I gotta bring my kids.

lol
