4inch lift question. (springs from p38)
I recently met a fellow Land Rover owner. Today we swapped tires and wheels. My 18" Hurricane with Falken tires less than 10,000 miles on them for some 16" s spoke LR wheels wqith 265 75 16 Firestone Destination Mud Terrain. The Range Rover has a 4 inch Old man EMU lift kit. I know the springs will fit but what else will I need to fit this kit to my Disco II. He wants his truck lowered back to stock. Would my springs get him where he wants. I want to do this swap but want to be prepared. I read somewhere that you have to change out control arms. Are the control arms on the p38 the same as the Disco II? His don't look like the stock ones. I am trying to get as much info as I can before attempting this swap because I want to be sure and do it correctly. This swap is far cheaper than buying a kit. I know I sound cheap but the swap would make both he and I happy. His kit is not old and no sagging. The previous owner did not have the kit long before this guy bought it. It looked great with those forestone tires and that 4 inch lift. The Firestones are now on my Disco II and look great. They are a little noisy but I can live with that as I do take mine offroad when I can legally do it. Thanks to everyone for your help.

the ome springs on your d2 should get you around 2", so they're all you'll need. you get a lot more lift on a p38 because the adapters used add height. your springs on the p38 should get him somewhere between normal and high.
His p38 was changed from air bag to the 4 inch lift. I didn't know it would only lift my disco 2 inches. That is actually perfect because I didn't need 4 inches to begin with. So my next thing is which shocks do I get and is there any other parts I need to make this work?
OME has never made a 4" lift for a Rover. Best you can get from them is a set of 751 front springs from a D1 and 763 rear cargo springs for the rear, these will give you a strong 3"s.
Nothing, other then new replacement steel brake line, will be needed, other then a new set of OME's new Sport shocks.

the p38 has a different spring mount because it uses air bags in place of traditional coil springs. you need an adapter to convert it to accept coils. that adapter has some height to it. when i converted my p38 to coils, i used 761 springs in the front and 764 springs in the rear and i got 3ish" in the front and 4" in the rear. when i used the same combination of springs on my d1, i got 2"
