Default 4wd

im new to rovers and just got one. So far i havent need to use the 4Low but the other day i tryed to shift it and i wont shift from 4HI to 4 low its like its stuck any ideas. I stoped put it in to N then tryed to shift the 4wd and it wont move

first thing is your truck is 4wd. there is no shifting in to 4wd. most likely the hi-lo has not been used and thats why it is so hard to get into the low. you can pop the boot and spray the crap out of it with some penetrating spray and see if you can work it till it comes into function again. you can only shift when in neutral and not moving.

Yeah, if you don't use lo gear often it can get siezed up.
Once you've done what Hilltopper said, don't be afraid to give it a big shove to get it unstuck.

You can also spray from under the truck, have a friend wiggle the hi-lo shifter, once you see the linkage you will know what to spray.

+1 have a friend stroke the shaft shaft from on top while you work the lube in from underneath.

x2 lube the linkage. had to do that on my jeep from time to time. do it right, from underneith. jack it up and look up under it where it links to the xfer case.

You have to be moving at about 5 mph in neutral. If your stopped and trying to shift a rarely used transfer box, IT WONT WORK.

crawl in drive (without apply gas) on a level surface, shift to N without touching brake. Make sure the Speedo isnt regestering anything. Then shift the Transfer box to L.

I cant believe no one else caught this?
