Default 60000 miles maintance?

New owner DiscoII SE7 2003, 57000 miles. The 60000 miles expensive maintance is coming soon, what must a shop / mecanic do, and what can I do myself. I have minor experience doing car repair but willing to work on it that is why I bought my disco, I have the rave CD, but there is a lot of things. I do not want to do something that is out of experience. Thanks .

I only just started using this forum, but using thesearch feature at the top is a great thing. Search for 60K maintenance and you should get a bunch of threads on the subject. It mostly involves replacing ALL of the fluids and filters, spark plugs and engine belt / pulley and greasing. If you can turn a wrench and readyou should be able to handle anything, it's just a time factor. Just use your service book orany shop manuals you might have. Searching google i.e "brake bleeding procedure" or "land rover spark plugs" is also a great way (just make sure what you find is a reliable source). If you have specific question doa search here and you will probably find an answer.

Sir:
Well like I told you, I have little mecanic experience but willing to go hands on my disco '03. First I will need to buy the tools, what do I need And what do you recomend. I will do the 60000 miles maintance. My plan is first to buy the tools and then perform the maintance a little every weekend, what you think of that can I do it that way, I really appreciate you help and experience.
thanks
Al.

All you really need is some of the basics a spark plug wrench, maybe some sockets and a set of open end wrenches, a large oil catch pan 10 to 12 quart size.
Call if you want before you start and we can talk about what you are wanting to tackle first.
