Default 60K check up

The 2001 Disco I just bought is a couple of thousand miles away from the 60K tune-up/maintenance check. I phoned the nearest LR dealer (not very convenient ...1 1/2 hours away) to inquire about cost. $1000.

In the owner's manual, there isn't a listing of what this stage tune up consists of and I'd really like to know. There are local mechanics who can work on LRs just fine.

For this first major one, should I go to a dealer or should I stay local. Thoughts?

Thanks!

How mechanical are you, would you like a full lisy of things to be done and parts needed. I could walk you thru this easily and you would only be out about $300 in parts.

Mike,

Unfortunately, I don't have either the space nor the ability to do this, but thanks. If it were the Series I I used to own, I would attempt it, but not on this one.

A list would be very handy though, and I'd greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Vicki

When it comes to service, they are both pretty much the same, nothing has really changed.

Well, except that one has a computer and one didn't lol. Also, the Series I never reached 60K!

Is there an online site where I can review all the components of the 60K as a list? Thanks.

They both have computers.

Mike,

Thanks so much for that list! It ishelpful and already printed for reference. I so appreciate the effort.

At least I know the brakes are newly redone so that helps some.

Thanks steven, some will say it is over kill, but over kill is cheap insurance for the long term.
