Default 90K mile service for Disco II

All- I purchased my 2000 Disco II at about 80k miles... I'm currently at about 87k and fast approaching 90k. I asked my mechanic about the Land Rover recommended 90k service and it is VERY EXTENSIVE and quite expensive. Anybody have any idea about what I should do? Should I just go ahead w/ the service since I have only had the car for less than 10k miles... and am not quite sure exactly what has been taken care of.

My feel is that the last owner (the only owner) was pretty good about the scheduled (recommended) maintenance. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If you are mechanically inclined, I can walk you thru this list and you could easily save $500 to $700 in costs.
Mike
This is the parts list for a 60,000 mile service the way I do it.
1 Oil filter , K&N 3001
1 Air filter

2 Gallons of OAT, orange coolant
1 Bottle of Lucas Power Steering additive

1 Can Of Brake cleaner
8 Spark Plugs, I use Bosch Platium Plus 4's
1 Set of Magnacor 8mm plug wires

2 Bottles of SeaFoam

60,000 Mile Service
Bleed the brakes
Flush and change the power steering fluid adding one bottle of additive
Service the tranny adding one bottle of additive
Flush the coolant system
Do an engine flush before changing the oil
Do an induction cleaning
Clean the throttle body
Add fuel additive to full gas tank
Change both od the diffs fluid
Change the t/case oil
Replace the plugs and wires
Replace the air filter
Lube all the drive shaft grease fitting including the 2 slip shafts
Do full inspection of brakes, hoses, bushings etc.

Hopefully I didn't leave anything out.

Mike, what is "Seafoam"? And your list states 60k service, this also applies as a 90k?
This forum rocks, guys, looking forward to owning a Rover soon.
Thanks, David

Thanks.

When i first wrote that list it was based on doing a very complet 60K or for anyone who had just bought a 90K type used vehicle that wasn't sure of it's past service and wanted everything to be current and ready for all the off road you could throw at it.

As for SeaFoam, it is a good quality gas additive that can be used in the tank as well as an induction cleaner.
