Default 94 disco wont start

i have a 94 disco and its havin some problems... it wont last night on my way home it started getting sluggish like it was out of gas or somthing but it made it home. today i drove it to the store and it died when when i parked it. it started up fine and i was on my way or so i thought i had to go up a small hill and it was very sluggish and almost died. i tried to hurry home but on another small hill it died and i had to push it luckily i was right around the corner from my house. but now it wont start, it revvs like its trying to but it doesnt. i checked for a spark and though i didnt see one i think i heard one... and i put fuel system cleaner in the gas i know not the best stuff... but it seems weird the fuel would go out like that... idk. ANY SUGGESTIONS.
MANY THANKS

We need to check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail.
Open the hood and then turn on the key and leaving it on go to the engine and on the passenger side on the fuel rail there is a schrader valve, it looks like a tire valve.
Press the valve and see if fuel squirts you in the face or dribbles like granddad trying to pee.
If it squirts you in the face you have good fuel PSI, if not we need to look at the fuel system.
Report back once you have done this.

I i pressed the valve and it squirted out 4 or 5 in then dribbled, then turned off ignition and turned it back on and did it again and it squirted 4 or 5 in again.

Ok, so your fuel pressure should be fine.
Next we need to find out for 100% if you have spark or not.
Remove a spark plug, re-attach the plug wire, have a friend try and start the truck and you watch the spark plug and see if it sparks.
Do NOT hold onto it while doing this.

would that cause it to run sluggish or could it be multiple problems.

Ok, you probably need one of these.

http://roverparts.com/Parts/STC1856.cfm

Before you buy one you need to take a 12v voltmeter and check for power starting at the plug wire end, then follow that to the coil, then to the distributor, etc.
Check your cap and rotor and see what condition they are in.
It is common for the ignition module to fail, but we need to check all the simple cheap stuff first.

You have fuel PSI, you have spark, it must be a ecu problem.
Once you get it figured out please let us know.

it looks like its the coil when i measured the ohms i think the read 3 if i did it right, and i took it to auto zone and his read 17.343 so neither one was what its supposed to be... ny ways i ordered a $50 Bosch ignition coil and should be here by wed. hopefulley it will get it running.
