95 disco overheating
ok, did head gaskets, covered under warranty, drove over 300 highway miles. went for a short drive today with wife, had a/c on, it over heats. here's my theory, haven't had a chance to pressure wash the condenserto get possible particulates out. any sugggestions? only over heats with a/c on, fans up front ran for a long time after i shut the truck off. it cooled down and drove it for the rest of the day.as long as the a/c is off, no problems.any help appreciated. thanks,Bill

RE: 95 disco overheating
It seems to meyou may be gettign restricted flow at some point. I suppose if there alot of build-up in the condensor it's possible but I'm doubting thats the problem. Was the thermostat replaced with the heads? Have you ever had to replace your radiator before? How many miles on her?

alright, so washed the condenser real good. yes replaced thermostat, ran around and timed it with a/c on, about 13 minutes it's overheating.had recirculation on as well. turned a/c off, put heat on, no heat. earlier when it was hot, i checked the hoses, all were hot. is it possible i put 300+ miles on truck and it still has a bubble in system and only over heats when the condenser is getting hot as well?

also, all last week on start up i heard a rush of coolant leaving the heater core. like a swooshing noise, afterward, nothing, ran like a top.my mechanic isn't a rover guy but very helpful. i know that the just filled the truck and said, the bubble should work it's way out. how do you properly fill a rover. as always BIG THANKS,Bill

I would take it back to whoever did your heads and tell them you have air in the coolant.
To bleed the system, open the bleed screw on the radiator (with the engine cold). start the truck and run heater on high. Once it gets warm, fill the radiator to the top through the bleed screw, close the screw and make sure you have enough in the reservoir.
I this is how I did mine, someone might have another way, though.
Good Luck
