does anyone know if you can install a series 2 bumper onto a series 1 discovery im saving money for this summer so i can upgrade my paint and am looking to do the healight conversion as well. just thought the series 2 bumper would give it that fully updated look.

 

I believe the mounting points are wider on a D2. If you are doing the headlight conversion, I have the instructions for a D2 in pdf format if you want them. PM me with an e-mail and I will send them out.

 

i have a 96 se7 will the headlight conversion process still be the same since you said the directions will be for a d2? if so please send the info to kjnash_2010@yahoo.com thanks. also the could i make new mounting points or is the bumper simply too wide for me to be able to do anything because the original one doesnt bother me at all i just think the d2 end caps look nicer than the d1's

 

It would require a lot of work and may impeed your airbag performance/ safety. Maybe you could find a way to incorporate the D2 end caps on a D1 bumper...

 

hmm the series 2 bumper does not really have end caps i think its all one piece, it'd probably be harder to incorporate those than to put the whole bumper on itself. if anyone had the time could you take pics of the mounting pionts so i can see how they differ. it its too difficult i will just have to settle for the series 2 grille and headlights which i am deff not against
