Default 97 Disco Dual Exhaust

Anybody ever removed factory exhaust and added duals? Plan on duals after the Y pipe with magnaflow mufflers. Any issues?

You won't gain anything unless you add headers and work your intake. Even then the ECU won't recognize to gain from the mods.

A lot of people have cut off the resonator (rear muffler) to get more growl. Just make sure to turn down the tip, or it will knock out your bumper lamps.

Also, the manifolds are prone to cracking. make sure your leaks aren't from there before you start. The gaskets aren't real cheap.

Saw a video clip a while back of a Discovery with dual pipes exiting on either side of the truck right in front of the rear wheels. I didn't care for the sound and exhaust leaking into the cabin through a bad door seal seemed inevitable. I will try to find the clip. I don't know how to describe the sound but it just wasn't right in my opinion. Perhaps taking the duals all the way to the back will help.

that may have been my truck was it yellow? if it was u probably heard the manifold gasket leak i have over the actual exhaust, its pretty bad... i had exhaust like that until the last trail ride when the side exit pipe got pinched by a stump and snapped the hanger... so now i have shorty pipes that are turned down at the ends... some people dont like loud exhaust and some people dont want their tires to hum goin down the road, they want to be sneaky and discreet.... that is fine by me, but i am not that type of person...

Snipers need to be sneaky and discreet.
