97 Disco I won't start
Ok I just came home from work, truck was running fine, loaded the truck lightly to go camping, get in to start the truck, itran and then sputtered off in about 3 seconds, kept starting the truck to no avail, same thing, now it won't even run just cranks over.
Fuel level was at 1/4 tank according to the gauge
Fuel pump was replaced 30k ago
I tried the intertia switch, didn't help.
I put $20 of 94 octane fuel in it, just in case the fuel gauge was broken that didn't help either.
I'm leaning towards a fuel problem just because it did start and run for a little bit so that would have me thinking that the ignition was working, but now that it doesn't start at all it could be a coil pack perhaps? or maybe a bad relay? or maybe the fuel pump needs replacing again? I would hope not because it was done fairly recently, but I have been running the truck close to empty between fill-ups
any suggestions?

RE: 97 Disco I won't start
This problem started friday at noon, I went away for the weekend now i'm back on sunday afternoon, so it's been sitting a few days
I'll check my records but I would assume the fuel filter was replaced with the fuel pump 30k ago,
I just drained the shrader valve on the fuel rail, and then cranked the motor over several times and checked the shrader valve again and it didn't build any pressure. So the fuel pump isn't running, even if the filter was a little clogged i would think it should build some pressure at the rail. So it could be the pump/ecu relay or the fuel pump itself
I just took the ecu out to double check make sure it isn't wet at all, because I had that problem before in the past with similar symptoms.

RE: 97 Disco I won't start
I'm almost positive that the voltage is ok at the battery, around 12.6volts, (not 14v, because the truck isn't running) I have a new optima style battery in there and all the accessories are working perfectly, and it's cranking at a good speed.
isn't the crank sensor in the circuit after fuel? meaning if the crank sensor was bad the fuel pump would still run?
