99 disco
I have a chance to pick up a 1999 disco for $700 is this a good idea ? Would I be able to swap parts as they break down on my 2003 disco ??
This 99 I'm going to look at has bad break lines but apparently lots of new parts like alternator etc
had anyone bought a disco to mostly have spare parts ? Is it worth it ? I know it would be for like wiper motor door locks etc ??
Any thoughts ??

Guess it all comes down to having room to store it, will you get tired of looking at it...or worse yet...will the wife get tired of looking at it?
If l were to buy a parts rig, l'd probably dismantle it and store everything in tubs that is storable...and put the running gear (axles, trans, transfer, engine, etc) behind the barn. Then scrap the body. This is what l did with a 78 porsche 928, basically have a whole car in parts. I've used about five things on my nice 78. So, like l say...being able to store stuff and not get tired of moving, looking or dealing with it is paramount. Plus, you have to envision a day when you don't have a rover anymore...and you wonder why you stored all of this stuff so long...lol.
Brian.

i have a free spot on my drive way but still I wouldn't want to leave it for long
I could dismantle what I think I need but I'm just not sure if it's worth it. It has a rusty bull bar and might even have the locking differential that's got to be worth at least $400

Well I got the 99 disco in my drive way not in the greatest shape but I'll get a bul bar from it
as I was leaving the sale my window regular snapped on my 03
just finished swapping the regulator from the 99 disco works great the gear that's rivited snapped off on my 03
so that's a good sign only had it for about 1 hour and already used parts from it
I'm probably going to take out the locking centre cdl
bull bar
more window reg
trailer hitch wiring
some parts off engine
then probably have it up on the local sales advertising then scrap it
any other parts worth grabbing now ??
