Default 99' Disco II "No lights" but head lights

99' Disco II No lights, but head lights. This has been going on for some time now and i really need to fix it. Every light is out except for the Headlights. The third brake light works though when I step on the brake.

Tonight as I was driving home though I hit a bump and everything came on; dash, running lights, and everything. So I’m guessing there is a short some where, but were or how do I start to track it down? All fuses are good.

I would check all of your grounds starting with the kick panels, then check the inside corners of the back, close to where you would replace the rear lights.I would suggest getting a wire brush drill bit (I think they sell them at sears) and cleaning all the ground points. That is where I would start. The next step would be to start tracing power from the fuse through the switches to the bulb (you will need schematics to do this), but I would be willing to bet if all of your lights are out (brake and parking) then your issue is a ground since each of those run through different switches.

So i did some hunting around and it turns out that under my battery is a group of about 7 wires that are rubbed raw because the battery is sitting on top of them. Wrapped them up and all lights work now. Going to take it for a drive as soon as the batteries charged. I hope this fixes my A.C. too because it keeps popping fuses as well.

Thanks for the Help Rov Chris.

Solved: Rubbed wiring under the battery.

Well everything works even the seats, which were not working because of a fuse. Turns out it looks like the passenger power seat fuse is the same for the cig lighter. Again thanks for the help.
