Just picked up my disco after having new o2's, radiator, hd clutch and lower temp thermo put in, figure id have em bolt on the terrafirma fuel tank guard that i bought awhile back and just never put in since its not a one man job laying in the street in winter lol.

anywho, they said it simply plain doesnt fit, the edges are angled to short. $200 product and $30 in shipping, and its not like you can just bend it to fit.

had problems with them before, the steering damper they sent me was missing hardware, and one of the u clamps was only threaded on one side. emails and calls and never sent a replacement, garage had to thread it and torque it on softly because they arent sure how well it will hold up.

im done with this company, spend your money elsewhere. zero customer service, sloppy fittings, no instructions, missing hardware...

 

Well that sucks... If you want, bring it over my shop one night and well see if we can make it fit. Im right in middletown

 

Who'd you get it from, and what was the part number? Mine went on better than almost any aftermarket part I've fit.

 

Are you sure your getting parts for the D2 and not the D1?

 

TF864 should be the correct one

 

Are you ordering direct from TerraFirma? If not, what company are you referring to?

 

I installed the terrafirma steering damper - there is no hardware, no threaded parts, no u clamps. The existing bolts just go through the unthreaded holes. Are you sure it was a steering damper? Maybe that's the problem!

 

He's got to be referring to the steering rod kit, as the steering dampener wouldn't have u-bolts.

 

I thought steering dampener uses existing bolts and mounts? Just swap it and torque to OEM specs... You would only need the u bolts if you have new HD steering rods.

 

while we are on the subject......anyone running those tf hydraulic stops? wondering if they are any good?
