Default About to Rescue Another Disco for $600

I'm about to go rescue another Disco that an owner can't afford to fix. It's a '94 and he's only asking for $600 - but without my even having a chance to say anything - he sensed my serious interest and agreed to give it to me for $450 so he could pay rent. I'm going to pickup the tow dolly from Uhaul right now and drive out the 45 minutes it'll take to pick her up. (He doesn't know it yet, but I'm still going to pay him the $600 anyway. Can't stand to see folks struggling. Losing the truck is bad enough. He should at least have a little spending money after paying his rent)

Man that sucks for him.
Make sure that you unhook the rear driveshaft from the rear diff before you tow it home.
Do you know what wrong with it?

Not a clue. He said he drove it home 3 weeks ago and could not get it to start the next morning. He wasn't mechanically inclined, and I really wasn't interested in asking him questions in fear of mistakenly mentioning that it might be something very simple - so I just asked him for directions and when he'd be available to show it. I was going to wait until morning, but that's when he seemed to sense my genuine interest and he said he'd take $450 to pay his rent. I immediately said I'd come pick it up before 8pm. A buddy is stopping by Uhaul right now and picking up the tow dolly, and we'll head out within the hour. Honestly, I don't even care if it's mechanically recoverable (although i suspect it is). It's more than worth it as a potential parts car. I could use a fender, wheel, and dash pad immediately. It's the same color as mine - so that's a bonus. I was just idly cruising craigslist looking for a cargo area cover when i came across the ad he'd just put up a half hour prior. Couldn't believe my eyes!!! It'll spook the gf when she arrives home from a business trip tomorrow and opens the garage door to see that My disco has given birth to another! lol

Oh yeah, she'll throw a fit thats for sure.
So you already have a DI?
You are def using your Disco to pull this one home right? I mean, you have to, they guy will freak when he see's that you already own one and just bought his for salvage.
But I think you are right, something simple and she will run and drive just fine.
Maybe a clogged fuel filter.

Yep, I already have a DI. Picked the one I currently have up for $1300 last October. Had an exhaust leak, bad crank sensor, TWO spark plug boots that had been pulled on and has separated the ignition wire from the connector, and had a SEVERE wobble above 35mph. The wobble turned out to be a busted radial belt, and I spotted the two disconnected plug wires as I was doing my initial inspection. Basically all I had to do was a complete tuneup, install a new crank sensor, and replace a tire(which when i mentioned it to the prior owner he agreed to go down to discount tires with me and we got them it replaced under the road hazzard protection - the set had only 1300 miles on em!) Now the thing purrs like a kitten. Funny thing is, I already had an SUV as my primary commuter and just wanted the disco for my summer river trips. Now I'm in love with the Disco and will have two of em for a bit. My new SUV is too nice to beat up, but I've been having a blast with the Disco.

And yep, I'll be using my disco for the tow. The town the guy lives in is where the state men's prison is so practically everyone either works at the prison, or sell crystal meth. He sounded quite young and desperate, so I doubt he bats much of an eye - especially after he's surprised at getting the full $600. I'll be very surprised if it doesn't end up being something very simple to fix. It generally is in the "It was working one day but not the next" scenarios...

Here are a few more pics of the Lr3 G4. I LUV the new G4, but in the end am just not willing to get rid of my current ride in favor of it.
