that one tube can be bypassed or repaired no need for a new core

I'm looking into it. Repairing an old radiator can be a slippery slope. It could be ready to have other issues around the corner.
I'm also trying another LR specialty shop. It's going to be taken in early part of next week. The shop I've been using isn't bad, but they're always too busy, too far away, and they've screwed up a thing or two because they were trying to rush it out (which they quickly and apologetically rectified, but still...)
This other shop is smaller, closer, and I got a good vibe talking to the owner. Seems to really know his Rovers.
