Default Abs pump

The good news mine was replaced before I bought the disco, that was 3 years ago.
the bad, while in getting panel repairs the car needed a wof, it failed on soooooo many things lol.
but the brakes I’m lost on what the guy is saying, it’s braking is at 40 percent and needs to be above 50, the pedal isn’t soft and ABS comes on.
the 3 amigos fix has been done at some stage before I bought it, he says he thinks that one of the solenoids is corroded and is allowing fluid to bypass and therefore brake issues.
he says it’s a common problem in a few makes.
In nz they would be 1500nz , that was 3 years back
he suggested I get one as I’ll need it on the future, I’ve read ages back some places sell refurbished units that have a better system than original, can anyone recommend a brand ?
or is it better to wait a week and see what the fault is sigh it’s been nearly 2 months to get it on the road again

I am not sure I follow exactly what you are saying. But I would pull out the ABS pump and the solenoid and look for fluid getting past the black seals on the valves. Assuming the ABS sensors at he wheel are in good order and the Amigos fix was done correctly. The two little rubber gaskets are available, I forget who makes them, but they are pricey for two gromets. Flaconworks maybe? If he is refeing to the valves as solenoids, might be. Then this is likely the fix. Personally, if i were doing the work, I would pull the valves out, test the resistence, clean up the wiring and look for fluid. If there is fluid, replace the two gaskets. They are small, flat, black o-rings that seal out the fluid from the electronics.
Its not that big of a challenge to fix once you have the parts. I would remove the pump altogether, as opposed to trying to fix it in situ. Bleeding the brakes is actually not as challenging as it sounds.

Good luck

Here you go.
