Default ABS sensor connector deteriorated on wiring harness?

Well I have a question... i have just replaced a wheel bearing and new ABS sensor and sure as anything there is additional issue lol the connector at the wiring harness was gone and looks like the PO had manually plugged the 2 pins in separately that were in the plug... i sadly had to cut away the water proofing cover from the new abs sensor cable so I could plug in the 2 wires.. my question is... is this just a simple circuit so doesn't matter which wire plugs into either pin or are they specific? Im assuming there is an order? it is a hall sensor and specific? am I correct? im getting wacky codes and my brake light is coming on and of course 3 amigos still as before ... i accidentally cleared codes when checking so Ill have to go back out and drive a minute and check
