Default ABS Sensor, Three Amigos and Transfer Case Interlock

2003 D2

So a couple weeks ago I replaced my front hubs. One of the ABS sensors was bad out of the box and I have not been able to get the sensor sorted yet. I cannot drive it if the sensor is connected. The sensor is screwing up the traction control, and the car is darn near undriveable. In order to keep driving it I have disconnected the drivers side ABS sensor ( which I already tried to replace with no success ).

With the sensor disconnected I have the three amigo's and the traction control lights on the dash, and the ABS is not working properly. Also, the transfer case will not shift out of 4H. It will not move to neutral or 4L. The transfer case shift lever will simply not move. My question is, is this a coincidence? Does the bad ABS sensor impact the ability to shift the transfer case? Or is this just a matter of the T case interlock going bad at the same time. I have not had to put it into 4L in a couple months, so I'm not sure if they are related. I don't want to rip apart the console and shifter to get to the interlock solenoid if I don't have to. I still need to get the ABS sensor sorted out. That would solve all the ABS and traction control issues.

Does the disconnected driver's side ABS sensor play any part in the transfer case being locked in 4H?

Any recommendations for a sensor brand and part number to swap into the new hub? I replaced it with one cheap amazon unit already and I did not make any difference.

Hi .
This thread jumped in front of me while doing something else...
My comment is : The transfer case interlock disconnected sensor does trigger the 3 amigos and will always show the condition as long as it is locked in 2WD. Am running rear-wheel-drive only for over a decade with zero problems. The Hi/N/Lo lever has always worked fine. Perhaps yours needs exercising both the transfer case lever and the H/N/L lever to ensure they are at their proper detent positions
