Default ABS vs Service Engine Soon

Hi everyone, this is my first posting

I have a problem with my Land Rover Discover SEII 2002

First, I have the "Three Amigos" problem (ABS, HDC and TC lights are on)... Today I ran a "Three Amigos test" called ABS Amigo Box and it gave me an error: 114: Shuttle Valve Electric Failure... As far as I know, basically I need to replace the ABS pump...

So far so good... BUT I also have the Service Engine Soon light on...

My question: If I replace the ABS pump I will get rid of the Three Amigos, but, may I get rid of the Service Engine Soon as well? Can the ABS pump make the Service Engine Soon light to be on? How can I know what the Service Engine Soon is about?

Thanks a lot!

dont think so. abs issues have nothing to do with the SES light. read the codes for the engine light and let us know. we may be able to elaborate them.

also.. read the stickies list. there is a really good write up of how to repair the shuttle valve problem.

You don't need to replace the entire block/pump. Just the switches on the bottom.

IMO the shuttle valve is an easy fix you can do on a work bench. i belive AB even has a video on how to do it on youtube.

I was thinking about changing the ABS module... What do you think?
How do I change the switches on the bottom? Where can I get them? Ebay?
Thanks

Get the kit from Falconwerks. They are in Arizona I believe. You may not need to remove the entire pump or replace it. There is a sticky on top of the forum that links to the instructions. In that thread you will probably find an answer to every possible question, mistake and problem with the fix. It will take a day, not longer. I like working on my truck and am a bit mechanical, but by no means a mechanic. It is a bit intimidating, but with patience you can fix this yourself for a fraction of what a Dealership or Garage will charge you.

They are in the business of fixing these cars with brand new parts, and have no interest in rebuilding parts like the ABS pump. Can't blame them, as most people will just pay for new pumps or give up.

If you don't get a lot of response here it is because it has been brought up a ton and all the info you need can be found in the stickie.
