I HAVE OWNED A 2003 DISCOVERY FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS. . After the first week, THE AC WENT OUT. I HAVE HAD THE SYTEM CHECKED BY TWO MECHANICS AND BOTH TELL ME THE COMPRESSOR IS SHOT. THE QUOTES WERE $2,100 AND$ 1,200. I HAVE NOT YET DONE THE WORK. STILL TRYING TO DECIDE IF I SHOULD GET OUT OF THE CAR BEFORE MORE THINGS GO WRONG. MILAGE IS 71,000. WITH THE AC OFF I AND FEELING HOT AIR COMING OUT OF THE VENTS IN THE CONSOLE BY MY ANKLES. ANY WAY TO FIX THIS WITHOUT FIXING THE AC. ALSO THE DRIVER DOOR LOCK ONLY WORKS WITH THE BUTTON IN THE CONSOLE. THE KEY FOB DOES NOT WORK AND WHEN I PUT THE KEY IN THE DRIVER'S DOOR IT WILL NOT OPEN THE DOOR. I PULLED THE PANEL AND FOUND A BROKEN 4" metal pin. What is that called and does anyone know how to fix this?
What about the key fob? The little light goes on when I push it but it does not work the doors or alarm.

Michael. call me and we can talk about yor a/c problems, as for the door, sounds like it is time to replace the door latch assembly assuming you have current to the lock and it isn't worling.
