ACE gets angry in stop and go traffic
Stop and go traffic, in my '00 Disco w/ ACE, 260K miles, daily driver. I'm in one particular spot where the road goes downhill ever so slightly and the traffic backs up for about 4 blocks in rush hour so it's stop and go for a bit.
Nearly every time after about 3 or 4 moves (vehicle length then stop, repeat as traffic dictates), the ACE light comes on red and a warning beep. It will continue until I shut off the truck, count to 5, and restart. Then it's gone. Just changed the fluid about 40K ago, pump is fine all the lines are fine, won't set it off again until the same situation on the same bit of road. I'm a school teacher and I get stuck in rush hour traffic on my only road home. Backs up at a 3 way stop at a RR track, so no way around the intersection. Concerned that it may be a signal of something worse.
Sensors failing or bad connections? Where to look. I have a local indie shop that has the correct electronic test systems, but they are booked way out and its somewhat a costly test.
Other than this, everything on the truck works great!!
Any help or ideas appreciated!!

You have two yaw sensors one above the sunroof control panel in the front, and mounted to the body just below the front passenger floor. You also have a sensor on the ACE valve body itself. Have you ever changed the ACE filter on the ACE valve body or taken it out and sprayed it with some brake cleaner?
You can convert back to a standard swaybar setup if something dies and it’s $$$$ to fix.

There's no tool that will read codes for the ACE that I could afford, and yes, no hard codes will stay from the ACE ECU. Did the ACE filter with the ACE service 40K ago.
Not affected by rain, as this happens randomly, so no leak so far from the sunroof onto the ACE ECU which I believe is under the glovebox above the passenger footwell.
Also, does occur during warm weather, not winter.

What is the service interval on ACE? 40k is way past due for power steering which I think is every 20k. That sounds like a really good place to start.

That may be the route I take. That't the only thing I haven't worked with yet. All other connections good. May start at that one. Hate to throw expensive parts at it but there are only 2 of them and the one under the passenger side is easier to get to.
Since the truck is 18 years old and 260K, probably time to replace the sensor.
Thanks. Will keep you all posted.
