ace light on
my 99 with less than 50k miles is showing its age. last week i replaced all wires and plugs clearing up all the misfires.
now i get an amber ace light sometimes while driving. after reading and reading that funny whine when i turn right probably isnt a quirk and might be the ace, and pair the noise with the light and its time to dig in.
both resivours are full and the ace one swirls when the engine is on. from reading around its sounds like step one is to flush fluid before looking at the filter, is that right or should i flush and filter based on age alone?
i assume the car still has original fluid...
lastly - 60k thread says full synthetic power steering fluid for this... valvoline full syn doesn't seem to be around anymore, so what does everyone suggest now?

Pentosin CHF 11S Hydraulic Fluid (1 Liter)
this looks like a cross to what Atlantic British sells any concerns using this? Atlantic British lists it as power steering fluid for the disco 2...which is the same thing as ace fluid... right? But then people are saying that it makes the ACE squeal.
Reading around more it seems like all these are valid too...
The real stuff
Valvoline Max Life PS fluid
GM Cold Climate PS fluid
Valvoline full SYN power steering - but this isnt made anymore
The shop manual calls for DEX 3, but there is an odd note on Atlantic British not to put Dex 3 in the ACE.
What is everyone using? Something not on this list?
This far and away is the least clear question i have ever tried to work out for the rover. At this point i am going to just go buy the rover stuff for big $$ and stop beating my head against the wall.
