Default ACE reservoir continually dirty

I've recently serviced my ACE system by using mostly power steering fluid and Lucas additive. I used a turkey baster to get the fluid out, but continually after I drive the car for a day or two, the liquid comes up pretty dark again. Is that normal or is something going wrong? Thanks

By emptying the reservoir you are only getting about 1/3 of the ACE fluid out. The 2 ACE actuators, pump, pipes and valve block are all full of the old fluid so unless you flushed the complete system the new fluid will mix with the old and darken.

Remember as well, even if you get all the fluid out there will still be a coating of old stuff lining all the inner surfaces, that will be picked up by the new lot and again discolour it. It may take a few changes to get it as clean as you were expecting, but that's not necessary as the percentage of new fluid will be so high.

Presumably the fluid in your system was ATF, and not Cold Climate PSF as these two fluids should not be mixed.

About 3x of fluid replacement then actuating the system components ( I rock the truck back and fourth , by hand , shoving the roof rack.) this rocking technique lets you get it done without having to go for a drive

So how do you go about flushing it? Do you do it while the vehicle is turned off?

The way I'm reading your post, you leave the car on so the fluid's circulating, and then rock it to make the ACE pump fluid back into the reservoir, and suck it out. If you could illustrate for me the process, or anyone for that matter, it would be much appreciated because I'm relatively inexperienced in the way of servicing this system.
