After market radio vs. Modifying stock radio
I have a 2003 disco 2 with a stock radio, im debating whether or not to put an aftermarket radio in. I feel that an aftermarket radio will look out of place. It would be great if i could see some pics of aftermarket radios installed. i searched myself but i didnt come up with much. I am also interested in maybe modifying the existing radio.

I swapped mine out to an aftermarket alpine unit years ago. Built in ipod controls, satellite radio, etc. Was very simple, and my steering wheel controls also work. One of the best investments in my truck was dumping the crappy radio. I have an S model, so no dealing with amps or anything was needed.

I recently purchased an 04 Disco that had an aftermarket radio in place (Sony XPlod something or other). Frankly, it DOES look out of place, particularly with its blue lighting, and even had me searching for an oem radio initially. However, after a few weeks, I got used to how it looked. I also got really really attached to it's built-in bluetooth for phone and audio - very nice feature. The previous owner did a good job installing it, though the steering wheel buttons do nothing now, which is a shame. I'll try to post a picture of it later.
