Default Aftermarket radio volume controls

Anyone have a after market radio and use the volume buttons on the steering wheel to control volume ?
my disco came with a clarion the up volume button works but not down. From what I understand it’s a resistance value it sends to radio it’s only 2 wires
I changed the buttons from my parts rig and same thing.

I used the plug and play harness from crutchfield when I put in my kenwood and it never worked. Also, have not dug into it to see if I can figure it out but plan on it here soon as it would be nice to have working again.

weird. I know the clarion I got it’s one wire jack that plugs in sw1 wire. I’m thinking that something is not compatible

I have an Android-based head unit. Even though there are two wires from the radio, only one of them (either one) connects to either one of the steering wheel control wires. Then the other wire from the wheel connects to ground. The radio puts out 12v on both of its marked wires and operates using the resistance. So perhaps you could try grounding the second wire from the wheel to see if that works with your radio.

I didn't have a Crutchfiled harness but I had a Connects 2 #CTSLR003.2 harness and i couldn't get the damn thing to play nice with my Sony radio either.
As for the buttons on my steering wheel one button would turn off the radio, another push toggled between USB to Bluetooth to FM to AM to CD, One button changed the radio station and the other button did nothing.
I gave up...
