Default Aftermarket Rear Bumper

Does anyone make a real world off road type steel bumber for the Discovery II? I am looking for something along the line of a quality made unit like what ARB offers for the front.

The ARB bumpers are ok, but they're heavy and from what I hear they bend easy, not to mention you can get a stronger unit for much less. Rovertym makes a great bumper, and I'm looking into Hi Country Off Road for my unit. It looks a little less refined but the price is unbeatable and from what I've heard the strength of the bumper is great.

Rovertym makes a great bumper. Hi Country Off Road makes a very solid bumper that is a less refined version of the Rovertym bumper. IMO, the Hi Country is the better deal. Plus you can get a swing away tire carrier from Hi Country.

I am looking at Hi COuntry for all my bumpers and sliders. For me it's a lot about the convenience of being able to drive up to Evergreen and get the parts so I don't have to pay shipping.

Steven, RTE does have a pretty nice bumper.
Have you considered making your own?

You've got LOTS of options for bumpers, front and rear alike. The mainstays are ARB, Rovertym, SafariGard, etc. There are also a number of very talented fabricators turning out some nice product at great prices, such as Hi Country Off Road and Bottorf 4x4 Fabrication. The ARB bumper is probably the prettiest, but it's also got a reputation for being a little weaker than some of the others. In it's defense, the ARB front bumper is air-bag compliant whereas few (if any) others are.

TJM and Equipe are also very nice, but I don't think they're available for sale here in the U.S. You'd spend considerably more buying overseas due to the currency conversion and shipping.

My thanks to all those above who have taken the time to help. I will be looking into each. I had looked up the ARB but could not find their rear bumper. TJM is no longer available in the U.S. (of course I currently live in Mexico but I would highly doubt that they are anywhere near my location). I do not want one that is messed up easily - that is what happen with the factory one (my son decided to back up in town without looking - thankfully just the bumper and bumper light).
I have always built my own equipment prior to the Discovery II simply because I could do it better. I do not have all my equipment with me here and I must be getting lazier in my years to even think of buying one! Again, thank you so very much.
