Aftermarket warranty
Anyone ever deal with a route 66 warranty before? Credit unions seem to be selling them and told me they would back the warranty. I just picked up another 04 d2 with 60k on it and the CU told me about the warranty 3/36000 for little over $900 no deductible and 24/7 roadside.

In the brochure is says that cooling and electrical are covered at 50%.
So lets say your alternator goes out, the dealer wants $800, you have to pay half, you can replace it yourself for half of that. ($200)
The brochure does not go into detail of what you need to do to stay in compliance.
Thats what you need to read, go and tell them you want to buy the warranty, then take the paper work and read it, all of it, bring a magnifying glass and read the fine print too.

Well here is what is not covered, steering, a/c, brakes, engine cooling only covers the water pump and thats at 50%.
Electrical only covers the starter, alternator and at 50%.
It does not cover the fuel pump or suspension.
So basically it does not cover the most common problems with a DII.
But for $900 if it gives you piece of mind go for it.

i bought a 03 discovery 2 and the dealer i bought it from offered a 5 year 100,000 mile one for 2000, I bought it and two weeks after i bought the truck the front bearing in the transfer case went out along with the shift linkage " truck wouldntstay in high" and they covered everything no questions asked, plus it covers everything drivetrain and all engine stuff inside the motor and out, same with the driveline stuff. so that was worth it for me considering all i really was concerned about was the engine and cases. i just made sure i bought a discovery with no air bags under it, ive been owning rovers for 15 years and in my opinion that is the worst problem with them from my point of view.
