Default ahhhh wth help?

I took the new to me 04 disco 2 through a few puddles today, nothing too deep or serious, and now I have a blinking service engine soon light and advanced auto parts said I had P0130, P0171, P1171 error codes. I have no idea what to do now. It's running a little jumpy all of a sudden. Is there a "cheap" way out of this...like not thing it to a LE dealership? Help a brother out.

I'm guessing you've got water in a spark plug wire. A good start would be to pull each wire and add dieletric grease. That would be a good place to start. Make sure each plug wire snaps back securely.

After talking to the guy at the auto parts store I changed the front passenger 02 sensor. After doing so the engine didn't seem to be missfiring and the ses light stayed off for the short trip to return the loaned sensor socket. The sensor coupling had a little oil in it from leaking down the cable. I added sensor grease to the new one before installing it. I hope that was all that was wrong....I'm almost afraid to drive it in fear that the light will come back, lol.

Well yesterday on the way home my ses light came back on and the motor started missfiring again. This is insane. I guess i'll take her back to get read again. I'm guessing its going to read the same codes as before. I hope its just some bad spark plugs. I've only had this thing a week.

Go through puddles again? Maybe your plug wires are shot and need to be replaced. Do the spray mister test in the dark and see if you get arching.

The P0130 code is for the O2 sensor on Bank 1 upstream caused by failure to cycle the heater in the sensor. I am assuming that you replaced this sensor an not another one among the four sensors.

The P0171 is caused by a too lean condition on bank 1 and P1171 is caused by too lean condition on both banks. I am surprised that with a blinking CEL, you don't have a P0300 caused by multiple misfire due to the lean condition.

Check for a vacuum leaks around the lower intake manifold or at the plastic lines and connectors and at the idle speed control.

Going through water would not cause the vacuum leaks but it could trigger the P0130 if the connector is damaged on that sensor, shorting out the heater wires in the sensor.
