Air Conditioning Fan
Guys,
A friend of mine bought a 2001 with 90K miles on it. He found the 40 amp fuse for the airconditioning fan blown, replaced it, blew as soon as he turned key on and AC on.
He said the fan seems to be frozen in place ( cannot turn by hand).
What is most economical replacement part (fan) available? Thanks in advance. You guys are great. Even though I drive a DI......

Same thing happend to me this summer. I found a used one on eBay for $45. I resold my oid fan back on eBay for $23.99 as rebuildable spare. So cost me about $20 and it is still working fine. My old fan was frozen solid. But I image that someone who knows how to rebuild electric motors could fix it. The eBay buyer left positive feedback so someone out there is rebuilding these...just like alternators I guess.

Same Problem
My AC was fine this morning and then this afternoon, I started it up and went to turn the ac on and nothing....I checked the fuses and found the 40 blown so I replaced it.
Started the rig and turned on the ac and still nothing. It turns on but no air what-so-ever blows out of the vents. Is it my condensor fan that needs to be replaced?

I was referring to the Engine Electronic Cooling Fan.
I like the idea of removing it and either opening it up to see what it's internal condition is or possibly taking it to a alternator/starter shop a few blocks away. I have told this old place has a multitude of parts and rebuilds almost any automotive electrical as such.
I was wondering if any of you had found any other fans that fit sort of like using the Chevy Fan Clutch instead of OE.
Anyone found one?
