are you talking the casing that the filter is in or the filter it self. If you are talking the casing, undo the MAF plug then the flip clips on the sides of the square box the air filter is in, then undo the clamp that holds the air tube to the intake chamber and the small black hose that runs off to the side of the air tube then pull the whole air tube and box straight up and vuala.

Once the MAF spring clips are disconnected, and the electrical plug on the MAF is disconnected (I cannot recall what type of clip is on that plastic elec. plug), you can losing the spring clips on the air box. There is a clip on the left side bottom half of the air box as you face the engine bay near the radiator. Be careful with the spring clip near the radiator, there is a piece of small plastic tubing that comes out of the radiator and makes a U-turn back across the front of the radiator near that clip that can break if you are not careful. It is the return coolant line to the coolant reservoir.

The other air box spring clip is the side of the air box toward the driver on the top right on the air box edge. Push this clip toward the driver and then down. Both clips are spring loaded, and the one on the left pulls out and up, and the one on the top right pushes to the driver and then down. It is a bit snug to get your hand down to one near the radiator. Careful with the spring clips, they can unclip with some force and hurt your fingers.

The air box then basically lifts up from the side toward the driver like it has hinges, but it is just kind of hooked into the top edge side of the air box toward the front of the vehicle. Once you get the top about 1/2 way open you should be able to lift it off from there. The filter just lifts straight down in the air box with the filter media (pleated material) facing down.

While you have the filter out it is good to wipe out the air box with a damp cloth or blow the dust out with compressed air. When replacing the filter, make sure to get all sides of the filter's rubber trim edges inside the edges of the air box.

Re-hook the top edge of the air box closes to you and close it in reverse down towards the driver. Lock the two spring clips on the air box back down, reassemble the air hose into is place and lock down the two clips that hold it to the air box opening, and plug in the MAF sensor electrical connector. If you loosend either of the large hose clamps on the air intake tube to give you more wiggle room with the air intake tube, you will need to align the intake tube and re-tighten these clamps also.
