DITTO or any of the after market paper filters chaging it every 15,000 to 20,000 miles. No K&N air filters, Rovers don't like tehm

Apparently our supermodel rovers throw a fit and make you buy them a new MAF if you use the K&N air filters- i've seen a bunch of posts on this before. Plenty of other things to replace and spend $$ on, so spare yourself that one.

The filters are oiled. If any of that oil gets on the MAF, it will clump with dirt and ruin the MAF. The Bosch MAF's are very sensitive and don't like junk on them. They are almost impossible to clean too....

I agree. My other vehicle has a Bosch MAF also. The only way I have ever found to clean it is with 99% rubbing alcohol with the MAF in a Freezer zip lock baggie and shaking vigorously, this is of course just a temporary fix.

The nice thing about my other car is you are able to convert it to a Hitachi MAF, the Hitachi isn't affected by oil, dirt etc. as the Bosch is.

Any idea if this is a possibility with the Disco'?

When doing it with my other car you actually have to re-map the ECU viathe OBDII with certain software, or buy a new ECU programmed for the Hitachi.
