Default Air intake drain

My air intake moulding doesn't sit flush so I'm taking on some water. I will be replacing it but I'm sure even with a new one some water will find it's way in. I assume there must be a drain in that area? How do I find and clear it?

There is a small drain hole in the air cleaner housing.

Just to be clear I am talking about the the HVAC intake at the bottom of the windshield not the airbox for the engine

Welcome to my nightmare I have been fighting an intermittent passenger side leak for year - it is zero fun to deal with

The cowl vent intake is known to leak if the seal on it wears out and crumbles with age. You will have to remove the A-pillar trims and the wiper cowl to access it. Remove the HVAC intake and clean and seal it up against the body again and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the reply new cowl ordered imI just shocked one flimsy piece of plastic with a rubber strip is all that's keeping water out

Actually it is simply a design flaw, with age everything loosens up and the air intake is poorly protected from water entrance. I ran a bead if silicone along the top of the rubber seal, corrected the cracks, and cleared the drains everything is fine until we get heavy rain then water gets in.

I got those Malaysian fiberglass A-Pillar trim pieces and was happy with them. The same guy makes a fiberglass cowl that I thought I would try out. 1/2 the cost of plastic. Also it has the tape to seal against the windshield which I think would solve alot of problems.

Where are you seeing them for half the price of OEM I see it on eBay but by the time you add shipping from Malaysia it's about the same price
