Default Air Suspension

Hi all, my Disco 2004 with rear air suspension looses air on the rear right hand side, while driving and passing a bumper (hard landing). When I raise the rear manually it raises fine and stays like this till the next time I drive it hard on a umper. What is the problem and how to resolve? Thanks.

How many miles on the truck, how mechanical are you.
Sounds like a failing bag or height sensor.

Hi Mike. Thanks for your reply. It has 90,000 miles. I have already replaced both cushions about 3 years ago. Also replaced 2 height sensors exactly a week ago. I am fairly technical.

Curious, who'd air bags are you using cause they aren't holding up well.

I had a similar problem a few months ago and it was the air lines causing the problem. Everytime I would tighten the lines in one place they would start leaking somewhere else. They were year old arnott bags with about 20,000 miles on them, but I finally gave up the fight and went coil springs.

Hey Madlands, I was wanting to know if you still have those airbags and if you want to get rid of them. I have air on my Rover and would love to take those bags off your hand if at all possible. Please let me know asap. Im interested in making a deal with the compressor also.

Coil spring conversion = guaranteed fix. I understand for those who do a lot of towing, SLS is nice.

I was/am thinking about converting back to airbags, but I have heard that the bags have a tendency to fail at higher rates while towing. Since I am planning on towing, I am skeptical on all accounts now.

LOTS of folks convert to coil springs. Reasons include:
-Cheaper to convert than replace air bags
-More reliable
-Last longer
-Don't shatter in extreme cold...ask me how I know!

Pics of shattered bags? What temp was it when they shattered?
