Default Air suspension vs conversion kit

Okay...
My airbags (suspension ) has been dropping intermediately.
I'm considering conversion kit. As everyone says will be just the same.

If anyone could throw a couple words on differences noticed after conversion, also the best for value conversion kit, also how to disengage the air suspension sensor on dash.
I'd hugely appreciate it.
Thanks

Personally I prefer air bag SLS raer suspension particularly if towing and the SLS system when loaded. Offroading is OK on springs but make no mistake springs will not last any longer than air bags unless the air bags get damaged. LR recommend changing air bags every 5 or is it 10 years due to their deterioration particularly where they are folded over at the bottom. My air bags were still OK and I replaced them after 11 years or so. I now have the new compressor refurb kit to install which is basically a new PTFE piston ring etc. With air suspension you need to ensure the air intake filter is cleaned regularly (it's behind the drivers side rear light) and the air drier is working properly.

If you do go with springs vs air bags you will need to reprogram the SLS BCU to dispense with the SLS sensor warning lights so you'll need a suitable diagnostic tool like a Hawkeye or Nanocom etc.

Having experienced both springs and air suspension the springs are harsh on the normal roads or motorways compared to air and you don't have the SLS facility.

A lot of people tell me different things like switching to coil is better in the long run I've actually own both and HSE & an SE.
I would like to keep air suspension just trying to control cost.
Do you know a quality but less costly rear air bag set?

Unfortunately these are UK based but Dunlop or Contitech are both good. I used Dunlop as OEM suppliers and paid circa £160 a pair. Be careful of imported fakes.

PS. don't buy used air bags they are probably worse than your own and not even worth considering.

discovery 2 dunlop rear air suspension | eBay

TIP: change BOTH air bags not just one otherwise it can/may drive like a three legged donkey .................... or invariably the other air bag will fail sometime soon afterwards.

Yep, they look right BUT they don't say who makes them so that makes me very suspicious. Cheapo is cheapo and invariably you only get what what you pay for inspite of their warranty offers/claims. Like everything on Ebay, there is some risk involved so ask yourself the obvious question "why are these half the price of others" the answer is self evident. IMO there is no such thing as a bargain
