To my knowledge they stopped making the Series I in 1997 as the Series II was debuted in 1998. Thus replacing the Series I. And yes you can have 18" tires on a disco 2. I have a 99 disco 2 with 18" tires.

lr stopped making the d1 in 99 and started the d2 in 99 aswell. look at your tailgate. it will say series II if you have one. 18s will work only with the d2, not the d1.

The series 2 according to Land Rover US made its US debut in 1999.http://www.landroverusa.com/us/en/_p...nfoBlockLink_3 The best way to tell are the tail lights. Series 2 have them high on the rear posts, not down lower. Yes you can haveeither 16' or18' wheels on Series 2. I have an'01SE with 18". The SD will probably have 16" and the SE and the SE7 will possibly have 18" ifordered as an option.

Jay,

Yeah the series 2 debuted in the US on 99. But I think it was brought to life in 98 in the UK first. But I could be wrong.

It's a Series II for sure. It looks like 18". But I'm not 100%. Also I looked at the wheels and didn't notice key lock lugs, but you might want to ask. I didn't notice that I had key lock lugs on mine...and it didn't come with a key. A real pain to take wheels off without it.

The tail lights will tell you, if you have small tail lights that
are below the window level its a Disco I' with locking
transfer case, if the tail lights are large and above the bottom of the window its a Disco II's no locking transfer case.

If you look under the hood and you see 4.0 on the intake its
a Disco I ,, and if you see what is said to look like a bunch
of bananas its a Disco II.

The Disco I was a 1999 and the Disco II was a late 1999.
This is for North America as the change over was done
everywhere else in 1998 the last of Disco I's and 1999 started Disco II's.

North America just had a slow boat coming over with the last
LR's.

I have a 01 D2 that has the locking transfer case. Just didn`t come with the linkage to operate it. Just need to install it to work. Those wheels on that D2 are 16". I can tell just by looking at them. Looks like a good deal with those aftermarket goodies on it!!!

Good luck with the bidding!!!!!

I should have said no OEM setup for locking transfer case.
