Default Alpine glass rubber seal

Hi there:

Some weeks ago we (my Discovery II and me) had an "incident" against a parking roof (no comments... )... and the RH Alpine glass was smashed. Now I have the replacement (original LR glass code CPB000580 "used") but the rubber seal is missing and we canīt find another one on the Official dealer. It's so special rubber seal ?? or could use a Discovery I seal for example? Whatīs the code for this rubber seal?

What's a "Window repair kit"??

Thanks...!!! (from Chile)

Alejandro.

I had a glass guy replace mine and he just used the black sealant around it and it turned out fine, going on 2 years now, but he did say he could make any gasket work on that window

I'm pretty sure those windows just glue in like a windshield. I know the quarter window below does, and on that window the "seal" is part of the window, and is mostly decorative.

It's a sealant kit. The part number for the glass is CPB000110, and the sealer kit is CES500020(also for P38A)

On a D1, there's just the rubber gasket and the window. No sealer. You put the seal in, put the window in the seal, and then there's a "stiffener" that gets pressed in to a groove in the seal, expanding it so that it keeps the glass in place. Presumably it's supposed to expand the seal so that it keeps water out as well, but it doesn't. :-)

Is the roof line damage? Just asking cause if so, the replacement window may not properly seat.

Thanks for the code.

No roof damage, only the Alpine glass smashed and the sunroof frame broken. Now the sunroof is fitted ok, the glass is waiting for the rubber seal.... and the alarm is crazy...!

Not big problems at all....

Regards!

Here's what I used on a truck glass that needed to be replaced. I haven't broken any glass in the rover yet, but I'd bet it uses the same stuff.
