Default Altered Crankshaft Sensor

Previous owner wired a new cps connector here (see pic). Truck starts but runs like HELL, and only for a few seconds.

I've checked EVERYTHING on this truck. Has some whacked leaks on the intake but compression is good, new fuel pump. Black wire is from the main harness along the firewall, next to the immobilizer switch

That sucks man. Maybe the original wiring was melted through? Still no excuse to get the proper connector. I’d get to a junkyard and hack one off.

I mean it has the correct connector at the cps. Looks like they just wanted to extend the connector so it wasn't so hard to install. It had heat shrink on it, I pulled it apart to check the wiring. I just can't see that it'll reach the ecu properly without the rest of the harness wiring to help it along...

Shrink wrap or not, that isn't a properly spliced electrical connection. I don't know if that would impact your symptoms, but if it was mine, I would clean that up at the first opportunity.

Besides the crappy repair, wires in picture, are you getting any codes?

getting p1590, p0102, fuel system 1 and 2 open loop, long term bank trim 15.5, trim bank 2 0.0
module s6b12, s6b18
Codes were read before I replaced fuel pump. I had to return scanner so I haven't checked since

Should also mention the dash cluster lights don't work, well they flickered on once or twice but for the most part not working. Lights, windows, horn, etc works.
I pulled the plenum and tested coil with multimeter. fuel pressure was 10 psi, replaced pump so now its at 50.
timing sounds bad, it backfires LOUD. Checked voltage on injectors. Engine compression around 150, but also has some leaky vacuum hoses. I swapped the Maf from my working d2 no changes. Plugs were oily on left bank, carbon fouled. Oh, and put in new crank sensor

Oh, two D2's, that makes it easier. Just start moving parts. Known good for suspected bad.
