Is there anyway to tap the factory sls air compressor to run a air powered actuator?

How much force does it take to turn the nipple? I've never used mine...

I'm wondering if the motor from a marine bilge pump could turn it? It'd be a source of a cheap, waterproof electric motor.

Just enough is how much it takes... Its very easy to turn, bilge pump would be a good idea, just fabricating the connection between the two would take some thought.

It's a very short lever, but you can turn it with your fingers, if you can grab it right. Travel is very short, maybe 1 inch.

What about using a flexible dremel attachment to mate the motor to the actuator? You could put the motor anywhere within 36", wire up a polarity reversing switch, and call it good.

Its the 4x4 transfer case shift motor off a 2000 ford ranger. I had it down at the barn off my brothers part truck that he uses to keep his ranger running. Its range of motion between 2wd and 4wd high is very close to the distance between locked and un locked on the land rover case. Just have to figure out what all 8 wires in the harness do and fab up a connection and brackets. Any ranger wiring specialist out there?
