The block AND heads are cast aluminum, as well as the transmission and transfer case and 90% of the body.
What the block and heads are made up of makes no difference in the job, a block is a block and a head is a head, gaskets go in between the two just like all engines from the 1900's through today.

He's done head gaskets before, has been a mechanic for 35 years. and not to mention he seems to know a lot about what he has to do involving this job.
He just wanted to double check with me what the heads and block are made of so he could tell me how much it will cost me to do this job so i can get the loan I now need to pay for this job.
518-428-1336 is my # if you feel that its necessary to call me about this, because i already sent the D2 out on a flatbed 200 miles away. ( distance because mech. is my wifes family's trusted mechanic for 25 years or so)
