Am I covered?
went to get an oil change today at a shell quick lube - the guy sub-floor said i had oil leaking from my transfer case and main differential. i got 44,000 miles on my 04 LR Disco II HSE. i'll be taking it in soon for a 45,000 mile maintenance. question is - would replacingboth seals be covered under warranty at no cost?
seems like everytime i take it to the dealer, they charge me for stuff that i think should be covered under manufacturer's bumber-to-bumper. just want to make sure it's not considered fair/wear and tear. i know Discos leak - should i accept this as normal? really not bad. does not apear to be dripping on my driveway, but definite leak! THANKS for the HELP!

also wondering if i should pay for the extended warranty? i've got about 6k miles until i reach 50k.
any suggestions on about how much should i pay and what length term would be helpful?

Call first to verify, but I believe that this kind of leak is covered under the warranty. I have an '04 with 41K and have had good luck with LR taking care of minor problems free of charge. I bought mine at an LR dealer used, so it came with their own extended warranty. It does provide some peace of mind for when the factory warranty runs out.

Yes it will be covered in regular warranty. And if your intending to keep the vehicle past 60k miles i would get the extendid warranty. Here are the most possible cases of your vehicle that can happen and will happen headgaskets, abs modulator (expensive) wheel speed sensors, drive lines, oil pan leak, water pump leak, and dmtl valve are the most commen on your disco II
Get it in and they will cover it, also buy that extended Rover warranty if you plan on hanging on to your truck for awhile, it will pay for itself and if you decide to sell it in a year or so, it makes for a great selling feature.
