Am I Crazy For Wanting Back Into the Disco 2 World?
My wife and I have been daily driving the D2 and the P38 the last 2 winters and they’ve been really reliable. In summer she drives her Mustang (terrible winter car) and I drive whichever LR I’m not working on.
Like Deputy we daily drive both the d2s. It takes a lot of upfront work imo to daily one of these but the cost isn't so bad if you can do the work yourself. My commute is 110 miles roundtrip and its up and over the palmer divide between Co Springs and Denver, a terrible drive to do daily in a lifted D2 but I don't hate it. Even when I'm pulling my hair out bc I can't maintain any sort of acceptable speed up the grades I'm still not truly mad about it lol....there is something wrong with me.
Agreed on maintenance, staying on top of it is key. I do all the work to my Land Rovers (except things I don't want to deal with like an axle) so not worried about the amount of maintenance it'll need.
Gonna go check the D2 out this weekend.
I agree there's something about a nice D2 that ... is just un-matched. I got back into D2's after about 10-15 years away from them and love it. Go for it.
(Funny, I used to feel sorry for ppl with D2's when I was driving around in my LR3/LR4, thinking "what a nightmare those engines are" and now I'm ... back in full throttle.)
