Default Am I on the right track?

Hey there, long time lurker of the Disco2 threads to fix problems with my disco. Currently im at a loss for what needs replacing. I bought my Landrover 3 years ago out of Salvage, and have steadily been fixing things. When i bought it the 3 amigos were already on. Ive never had trouble using it as daily driver but recently the front windows quit working and the next day it started acting like it wasnt getting gas when i would accelerate. Sporadically jumping when it did go. Most my research leads me to believe the ECU is going out, (radio not working, front power windows not working, now trouble accelerating) affecting the speed limiter? eading me to believe i need to do a full ECU BCU swap. Am i headed in the right direction?

I doubt it. Do more logical diagnostic test. The windows are not controlled by the ECU nor the BCU. The fuel issue sounds like a fuel pump issue - check the fuel pressure. Radio is also not related to ECU. Does the truck idle ok?

It idles just fine. When i give it gas its fine for a moment but after about 5 mph it starts acting like im not giving it gas. Rpms stay at about 2k and then it will ride there for about 10 seconds and jump way up. I ended up getting towed today and the shop says its the tranny slipping. Obviously i was on the completely wrong path. They said only solution is full tranmisson swap.

or first try checking the transmission fluid level. if that is fine check the color and smell of the fluid. if it is brown and/or smells burnt drain it and add new.

i would try this first before throwing a new transmission at it. while transmission failures do happen, they are rare with these trucks.

Do you have a code reader? Read or get the codes read and search or report back for further info.

Lots of issues could cause this. As mentioned transmission service is the first thing to check, then check every ground point in the system. Troubleshoot, Do not throw a transmission swap at it.

Yes, check trans fluid first. Must be done while engine is running to get correct reading. Google trans fluid check Dll...and you will find the procedure.
