Another Coolant leak in a different place.
Hello fellow Disco owners, this is my first post because after spending a few days and many many hours reading the forum I have not seen anything like the leak that I have. The engine in my Disco was replaced about 2000 miles ago and I just returned from Iowa with it so every thing appeared to be in great working order, however after my wife drove it for 2 hr (highway driving) I have been having problems with coolant pooling under the engine. It appears to me that the coolant leak is coming from the sump gasket on the lower left hand side of the engine (drivers side). I don't know if it is the gasket but I have not read anything so far to indicate this would be the cause of my issue but it looks like it is. I have attached some photos in the hopes that it helps someone diagnosis my issue so I can fix it.

Well, I looked at it again and could not find anything so I took it for a little drive and it started leaking like a hose. When I got home I added coolant and washed the engine down and it appears that there is coolant on top of the engine on the inside of the rocker cover. I'm going to assume that it is a gasket leak am I correct?

Likely the gasket for your throttle body heater needs replacement. It's a Very common failure point, and luckily an easy fix...

Looked at the throttle body and it has no issues. The leak appears to be comming from behind the water pump. Does anybody know if that is a common leak point. I will be taking the H2O pump off today just to check and putting a new gasket on just in case. Any good place to have a H2O pump check or ways to determine if it needs to be replaced?

D2's love water go go power scrub the engine, degrease it if need be and once clean you should be able to see it, if not then go and do a coolant pressure test to find it.
Make sure in the mean time that you keep your coolant bottle full to the lid when cold so you don't run low and toast your engine.

When I got back from my last trip I filled the bottle up and the next day it was empty so I dont think that I could make it to a place to pressure test it. I do have a compressor so if there is an esay way to make it or is there a cheap tool to get I'm all for it. Thanks Mike I will let you know what I find.
