Default Another Magnecor Question...

My wife told me lastnight she bought the Magnecor wires I was wanting as a surprise...but she bought the 7mm instead of the 8mm. Would the 7mm be ok or should I try and do a return for the 8mm?

Depends how sensitive your wife is.
I prefer the 8mm wires cause they can handle the excessive engine compartment heat our truck make.
The 7 mm wires are good, but if it is going to cause hurt feelings, and it is between your wife anf your truck, well I'll let you decide.

How's that for LR forum marital advice ?

For what it's worth, I put my 8mm and bosch +4's on yesterday and love it. Noticeable difference in lower end get up and go, we'll see how the MPG's pan out.

Mike, did you go w/ the fusion plugs yet? Almost did those instead but I figured I would follow the herd for now.

I feel like I am getting better mileage, about 1.5 MPG better but may have lost a little of the low end torque with the Fusions over the Plus 4's. It could of course be the winter gas also so don't hold me to it.

I went ahead and told her. They are only a few bucks difference. She gave me a look, but all is well Bad thing is I have to wait a bit longer since I have to send the others back [:@]

Just an update. We called to exchange the 7mm for the 8mm and they wanted a 25% restocking fee. I have heard of that on returns but not exchanges. She ordered them from ultrarev.com (never heard of them but she found them online somehow) That will be the last thing we order from them. I'll just give the 7mm a go[8D]

So you learned a lesson and you're out $30...that's less than 1/2 a tank of gas. If you're going to put the effort in and change out the wires, do it right or you won't be happy. Just my 2 cents, but you know I'm right

This instance is more about principal for me. Its easy to change the wires on a D1. I'll just run em' til they breakdown. I'm a bit stubborn..I'm not going to pay those guys $30.00 to do an exchange...no way. I'd sell them on Ebay and take a loss before I would give that company another dime.
