another newbie question-diagnostics
Still shopping..
The more I read, the more questions I have.
This one is general:
D1 15 error codes;
D2 150 or more;
as I'm choosing between the two and at the same time having in mind that I want to do as much fixing as possible,
is D2 easier to fix given the more detailed diagnostics? (remember I'm beginner) or is it a wrong question all together?
And I'm comparing differnt fruits?

[sm=wtf.gif] Hold on. Are you seriously thinking about purchasing a Disco with 150 error codes? Does the seller look like this [sm=pimp.gif], and have you been [sm=alcoholic.gif]
Actually, the DII will throw codes for several reasons. Before I changed the plug wires on my disco, it'd throw about 5-10 codes a day, but it was multiples of two different codes. We're gonna need more specificinfo on the codes.
Also, keep in mind that someparts that are common problems on DI's are extremely expensive.

All vehicles built from 1964 are required to have an OBD2 system in place of the less effective OBD1 in older vehicles.
Yes, the more information your computer can give you the easier it is to find what is wrong.

Mike Disco answered, what I now see, as rather a naive question with an obvious answer.
Really, what I was asking was:
-newbie + D1 (with 15 error codes)
:what combination, taking into acc. parts/prices, complexity of design etc., would be easier/less expensive, for a beginer that is willing
to learn/do, what you call here, 'wrenching'
-newbie + D2 (with 150 error codes)
