Default Another tire size thread

OK guys, I am doing a 2in OME Heavy Duty lift this weekend on my 04 Discovery. I am an archaeologist and work in the oilfields of ND, SD & MT mainly, so the mods I am doing are work related rather than for fun. I decided to do away with the 18in rims and bought a set of Terrafirma Anthracide rims in 16x7. With the 2in lift, what would be the best size tire for that kind of setup. With the lift, I think it will solve most of my issues I have encountered with it this past year. I just want to try and figure out the best size tire that will fill up the wheel well but not rub. It does not have to be the absolute biggest tire that will fit under it.
Thanks for any help!

I personally have 265/75 r16s on right now and they do an alright job of filling up the wheel wells, but I'll be doing 255/85 r16s in the spring.

get a set of treadwright guard dogs in 265/75/16. those tires along with your CDL and traction control and a bit of skill you should be able to get thru anything.

If I had 7" wide wheels, I would have gone with 235/85R16. Since I've got 8" wheels and 3" lift, I went with 255/85r16. I'm planning on upgrades eventually so I don't break anything.

A lot of people go with the 265/75/16. I would look at going narrower if i had to deal with alot of muck or snow though.

Yea I do have to deal with a fair amount of clay. So a 255/75/16 or is that going wider?

Depends,
255/75/R18 is a 33.06" tire
255/75/R16 is a 31.06" tire
