Lightbulb Another way to fill coolant...

...Without need to raise the reservoir

Uses a lenght of discarded clotheswasher drain hose; fits tight to do the burping. Inserted to the reservoir seam level sets final suggested level.

Interesting, what's with the rigged heater core shut-off valve?

I have tried many ways to bleed the system and the best way I have come up with is to let the truck idle with the cap off. It will slowly get all the air out.

It is closed in summer to avoid the airconditioner condenser which is very close to the heater core, to fight with the cold air.

Yes, 82C - 180F inline from boneyard parts, no more three-hose and bypass contraptions prone to failure. It is double drilled too.
