So it happens every now and then when I back out of the driveway. I turn the wheel to the left (drivers) and when I'm done backing out and put it in Drive, and start to turn to the right (passenger) I get a rather pronounce BOING noise from under the dash.

It is definitely under the dash and to the left of the steering column. It doesn't really sound mechanical and I'm guessing it's a relay or something, but it literally sounds like a cartoon BOING noise:

Nothing stops working and no issues at all, but just wondering if anyone had any ideas.

I like that sound. Its unique and rare for a disco. You can always start a conversation with that sound. Can you imagine, what if its a farting sound?

Then you'd say "well meet the wife"

In all honesty, it sounds like a noise when the bleeper has gone wrong or it could be the rotary coupler to the horn etc in the steering wheel/head of the steering column

Ah, all the comedians come out...

I don't necessarily think it's something to be terribly concerned about, just wondered if this was another Roverism I hadn't learned yet- like the random reverse wiper swoosh bit.

This is definitely not IN the steering column or any of the return stuff, it sounds deep in the bowels of the electrical melee in there....

Your left turn signal could be low on blinker fluid?

Ooh, details on this one please. My cruise isn't working and it's on the short list to fix.

EDIT: OK I just looked at the manual and didn't see anything in there like that. You messin' with me?
