Another is it worth it.
I cant wait to get my discovery asap. Its hard to turn down ANY deal.
But does this sound a little high?
1996 White good condition exterior
No mechanical problems.
Passenger Seat wont move forward but will move back, motor seems good.
rear passenger window wont roll down, motor seems good.
Drivers leather is worn.
140k
4000 is what he is asking.
Would 3000$ be too to offer?

$4K is too much for 140,000 miles. I'd pay $2K at the most no matter the condition.
You'll find on in good shape for $2500-$3500, just got to find the person that is ready to unload it because of gas prices, or that is "sick of it being in the shop." You can find one with lower miles too if your price range is around $4K.
Good luck, you're doing the right thing being cautious and asking lots of questions...

They are all broken.
No seriously. They all need work unless they came from someone who cares like someone on this forum. Sure your window might not work right or lock or whatever. but truth is. it probably needs some gaskets a complete maintenance of fluids and grease. no matter what you buy it will need some work and for $4k you can get a rig with less wear and tear.

I got a perfectly running 03 with 102k for 6700, don't know if that helps, but it is what it is!! I haven't had any major problems with it yet.. Hoping not to (like anyone hopes to have major problems with their truck) anywho... good luck on your search, i know how it goes.. the one i bought was listed for 9995 and i offered 5800 cash.. guy was in some financial trouble or something, ended up settling at 6700...

Just for comparison I live in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex in Texas and I bought my 96 SE7 with 150,000 miles for 3000 cash after TT&L. I have had no engine or other major problems and just playing catch up on the 60K maintenance. Going to be replacing all my u-joints and brakes in the next week and I have a power steering leak. This was about the lowest I could find around here without advertised problems that were a little to daunting when I was first getting into the Disco world 3 months ago. All in all a good truck for the price but I wouldn't have paid a dime over what I paid. Hope this helps.
